2021 Toyota Tundra

The 2021 Toyota Tundra comes in six available trims: SR, SR5, Limited, TRD Pro, Platinum, and 1794 Edition. There are also cab and bed options, although not every trim has both cab styles or all three bed lengths. The Double and larger CrewMax cabs seat six people with a three-person bench in the front and rear, or five people can ride comfortably with front bucket seats. The Double cab is paired with either a 6.5- or 8-foot bed, while the CrewMax only comes with a 5.5-foot bed.

For 2021, Toyota added two appearance packages, including the Trail and Nightshade special editions. The Trail is based on the SR5 trim with CrewMax and includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a spray-in bed liner, and lockable bed storage. The Nightshade is based on the Limited trim with either cab and has 20-inch alloy wheels, black badging, and a darkened chrome grille.

In 2020, Toyota reduced the Tundra's engine options to one muscular option, and it remains the same for 2021. This 5.7-liter V-8 engine produces 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. It also comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive, although you can opt for four-wheel drive on all trims except for the TRD Pro, which comes standard with four-wheel drive.

When properly equipped, the 2021 Tundra can two up to 10,200 pounds and haul up to 1,730 pounds. Also, if you're looking for a trim to tackle off-road conditions that include steep hills and difficult terrain, the four-wheel-drive TRD Pro fits the bill, as it has upgraded shocks and off-road tires.

The Tundra's spacious interior is highlighted by the impressive amount of room second-row passengers have. The rear-seat legroom for that second row is among the best for crew cabs, and the large rear windows give you excellent visibility. It comes standard with cloth upholstery, but available features include power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated seats.

For technology, the Tundra includes the Entune infotainment system with a 7-inch touch-screen display. It comes with a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth, three USB ports, as well as Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and Android Auto connectivity. Other trims include an 8-inch touch-screen display, navigation, and a premium stereo.

Standard safety features abound in the 2021 Tundra, as it includes pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights, just to name a few. These are part of the Toyota Safety Sense P driver aids. It is one of the few pickup trucks that come standard with automatic emergency braking. Optional features include front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
