Toyota maintenance is performed by Toyota-trained technicians using only Toyota-approved replacement parts. It’s the most affordable way to protect your vehicle from wear and tear and allow it to perform at its best. As your Toyota dealer, we want to tell you about some types of maintenance we provide.
Examples of Toyota Maintenance Available at Your Toyota Dealer
Air Filter Replacement
Your Toyota has two different air filters: the cabin air filter and the engine air filter. The cabin air filter filters the air before it enters your cabin to trap pollen, dust, and other allergen-producing substances. The engine air filter is positioned behind the radiator grille and filters out dust, dirt, twigs, and other debris to ensure only clean air enters your engine.
These two filters will eventually become clogged by dirt. A dirty cabin filter makes the air inside the cabin smell musty and stale, while a clogged engine filter prevents air from reaching the engine and turning your engine fuel-rich. A fuel-rich engine produces poor combustion and damages the spark plugs and ignition coils. We can quickly replace either of these filters to fix these issues.
Coolant Replacement
Coolant is a mixture of antifreeze and water, and its job is to remove heat from your engine. This liquid is pumped through the engine at high speed and absorbs heat radiating from the hot components. The heat is then transported in the coolant to the radiator, where it’s removed by heat exchange with the outside air.
Older coolant becomes less efficient at removing heat and can even damage your engine as it becomes corrosive. Corrosive coolant can quickly cause damage to sensitive engine components. We fix this problem by draining the corrosive coolant and then adding a new coolant mixed with a cleanser to your cooling system. Once this mixture has cleaned the cooling system, we drain it and refill the coolant.
Battery Replacement
The average lifespan of a battery is three to five years. As time passes, the battery naturally loses storage capacity as the chemicals inside it break down. Electrical system problems, like a worn alternator or damaged wiring, can reduce its life. A failing battery will cause various issues like starting problems, dim lights, or misfiring.
Our technicians will test your battery to determine its remaining life. Our computerized battery tester can quickly identify any weakness, like low storage capacity or reduced charging. If your battery is failing, we’ll replace it with a genuine Toyota TrueStart battery that includes free replacement within the first two years and carries a seven-year warranty.
Regular maintenance will prevent future repair bills, as it allows us to fix minor issues before they have the chance to develop into problems. Contact our service department today at Fox Toyota of El Paso in El Paso, TX.
